Our Story
Helping children thrive socially and academically is our priority.
Mangweni CSI was founded by Nokuthula Zwane in September of 2018. She is a sport management graduate with over 15 years of experience in community development and delivery of physical education & sport programs in schools. Nokuthula has worked for blue-chip companies in Marketing and Corporate Social Investment Departments. She has also been part of a leadership development program which partners school principals with business leaders to put the school at the centre of community.
Young female coaches with experience in implementing physical education, life skills, sport and community school-based programs complete the team. These are unemployed youth recruited from youth centres in townships to create pathways for employability.
Mangweni CSI pays homage to Mangweni the founder’s late brother named after their clan name. At the age of 23, Mangweni had graduated with Degrees in Social Science and Education but was called after two weeks of starting his career as a school teacher in 1990. Getting involved in schools to impact communities is a way of picking up his baton and the founder’s purposeful passion. Mangweni’s spirit lives on.
